US Travel Ban Extends To UK And Ireland

Vice-President Mike Pence announced the US is to extend its coronavirus travel ban t include the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The ban will begin at midnight EST on Monday (4:00 GMT Tuesday).

Under the new restrictions, US citizens and green card holders will be able to return home – but will be funnelled through 13 airports and subject to additional health screenings.

At the same press conference, Trump announced he had been tested for coronavirus and expects the results in the next 48 hours.
