Boris Johnson’s fiancee Carrie Symonds faces fresh controversy as yet another friend of hers is considered for a top job.

Dominic Dyer has stepped down from his position as chief executive of the Badget Trust and is in the running for a position as an adviser to Boris Johnson on the badger cull.

Dyer’s appointment has not been confirmed – but the timing of his resignation has led critics to ask whether he is being lined up for the role.

Miss Symonds has faced previous claims that her influence resulted in her friends getting jobs. Nimco Ali, a close friend of Carrie Symonds, got a position at the Home Office without the role being publicly advertised.
