It was confirmed last night that Meghan had agreed to a ‘wide-ranging’ interview with Oprah Winfrey, who is one of the most recognised names in the US.

Miss Winfrey attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in 2018 and has remained a close friend of Meghan since the couple moved to California.

One source suggested the interview had already been recorded and described it as ‘one of the most inevitable and, sadly, predictable consequences’ of Megxit.

Harry will also feature in the 90-minute show which will air next month on CBS. The couple will discuss their move to the United States and their decision to step down from Royal duties.

The couple’s willingness to take part in such an ‘intimate’ interview seems at odds with their insistence that they wish to maintain complete privacy.

The news could raise fears with Royals that details of Harry’s rift with his brother William could be aired. Buckingham Palace declined to comment last night.
